Warm Almond Mate Superfood Smoothie
Here’s a nourishing brain kickstart in the morning, or when you need to pull an all-nighter.
I had to get up early and do some intense business brainstorming this wintery morning
so I made this warm brain delight to help me get fired up while watching the sunrise over Bondi.
Here’s the recipe so you can add it to your morning ritual one day.
Feel free to use it as a base and add your favourite herbs or superfoods
(cacao or mushrooms would be great), for other variations.
Please note this does contain Honey, I am a Vegan that eats it (not sure the term for it).
It has a myriad of health benefits in and on the body, but for this smoothie you
could replace it with another low glycemic plant sweetener such as:
Coconut Nectar, Maple Syrup, Yacon Syrup, Mesquite or Stevia
(Remember: the least amount of processing the better).
2 cups filtered or spring water (NOTE: 1 room temp, 1 hot)
2/3 cup Almonds, soaked overnight
2 tbsp Golden Flax (Linseeds, whole)
1 dsp Honey, or Honeycomb
2 pinches Nutmeg
2 tsp Poppyseeds
1 tbsp Nettle, dry herb
1/2 tbsp Dandelion Root, ground
1 scoop Synergy Natural Supergreens
1/2 scoop Rosehip Vital (ground rosehips – very anti-inflammatory)
1 tbsp Tree of Life Organics Soluble Green Yerba Mate
Optional: Gingko or Brahmi, dry herbs
Blend and enjoy in your favourite glass.
